Trilume are a specialist buyer of established wellness and nutrition businesses
Trilume acquires profitable, founder-led businesses in the UK wellness and nutrition sectors and builds them for the long term.
We work with business brokers, corporate finance advisers, accountants and other trusted intermediaries who are advising owners on succession, retirement or the next stage of their business.
- Clear acquisition criteria
- Direct access to the decision-maker
- Principle capital available
- Respect for your client and your mandate
What we are looking for
We have a clear acquisition mandate and are actively looking for businesses that broadly meet the following criteria:
- Revenue: Typically £1m – £5m
- EBITDA: Typically £250K - £600K
- Profitability: Established and sustainably profitable
- Trading history: Typically 5+ years
- Ownership: Founder-led, owner-managed or privately held businesses
- Geography: Primary focus on South West & Midlands, with flexibility for exceptional opportunities elsewhere in the UK
- Core sectors: Wellness, nutrition, nutritional supplements, functional foods and ingredients, practitioner-led nutrition, sports nutrition, healthy ageing, gut health, fitness and recovery, together with specialist distribution and contract manufacturing serving these markets
We particularly value businesses with:
- Strong brands and customer loyalty
- Recurring or repeat customer demand
- Established products and services
- Sustainable margins and profitability
- Capable management teams and operational continuity
- Clear opportunities for further growth
We are generally less focused on early-stage or pre-profit businesses.
These are guidelines rather than rigid rules. If an opportunity falls slightly outside our criteria but you believe there is a strong strategic fit, we are happy to take an initial look.
Working with Trilume
When you introduce a business to a buyer, you need confidence they will assess the opportunity quickly, communicate clearly, have the resources to complete and respect the relationship you have with your client. That’s how we aim to work at Trilume.
Clear decisions
We assess opportunities quickly and communicate clearly throughout the process. If an opportunity fits our acquisition criteria, we will engage constructively and move with purpose; if it does not, we will say so promptly rather than create unnecessary delay or uncertainty.
Acquisition ready
We have principal capital available, established funding relationships and an experienced adviser network in place. This means that when the right opportunity arises, we can move efficiently from initial assessment through offer, due diligence and completion.
Respect your mandate
We recognise the importance of the relationship you have built with your client. We work collaboratively, respect agreed communication channels and remain professional and transparent throughout the process, with no attempt to circumvent the adviser relationship.
Commercially pragmatic
We take a disciplined but practical approach to valuation and deal structure. We look for transactions that work for both parties and are open to sensible structures where they help bridge expectations, support the founder’s transition or create greater certainty of completion.

A long term home for the right business
We recognise that the value of a founder-led business extends beyond its financial statements. It also lies in its people, reputation, customer relationships, culture and brand.
Trilume is building a long-term group of high-quality wellness and nutrition businesses. We are not acquiring businesses simply to cut costs and sell them on. We look for fundamentally good companies that can continue to grow while preserving the characteristics that made them successful. For advisers, this makes Trilume particularly relevant where a seller cares not only about achieving fair value, but also about what happens to the business, its people and its legacy after completion.
A straight forward acquisition process
We aim to keep transactions clear, efficient and proportionate, establishing alignment early and avoiding unnecessary time or cost for either party.
- Initial review: Send us a teaser, Information Memorandum or a brief overview of the opportunity. We will assess the strategic and financial fit and provide an initial indication of interest
- Confidential review: Where appropriate, we’ll sign an NDA and review the information needed to understand the business in more detail.
- Initial discussion: If there appears to be a good fit, we will arrange a discussion with the adviser and, at the appropriate stage, the owner or management team.
- Indicative proposal: We aim to align early on valuation, deal structure, transition arrangements and key commercial terms before significant time and cost is committed.
- Due diligence and completion: Once heads of terms are agreed, we move into focused due diligence and legal documentation before progressing to completion.
Throughout the process, we communicate clearly, make decisions promptly and work closely with the adviser to keep the transaction moving.
